Dr. Jiro Akpobome  is a General Dentist practicing as a traveling implant surgeon and extractionist in the Houston TX area.  Currently, he is constructing a Dental Implant center for treatment and one on one implant education. He has an insatiable drive for knowledge and a desire to gain mastery in whatever subject he undertakes. Prior to a career in dentistry, Dr. Jiro was a trombonist and played in classical, gospel, and jazz settings. After accomplishing mastery in music and earning an undergraduate degree in music performance, healthcare became his new home for knowledge.

Dr. Jiro entered dental school with a goal of specializing in pediatrics but soon realized he had a greater love of surgery. After graduating Baylor College of Dentistry

he began a hybrid aegd/gpr in the University of New Mexico Hospital system. There, he was trained extensively  in emergency dental and medical procedures as well as IV sedation, third molar exodontia, and implant placement.  Dr. Jiro’s interest in implant dentistry sparked during this experience. In his seven years of implant dentistry Dr. Jiro has been trained and mentored by prolific practitioners in the field such as doctors Hilt Tatum, Jose Pedroza, Ricardo Kern, and Fouad Khoury. Dr. Jiro has dedicated himself to life long learning having already completed near 1000 continuing education credits since graduating dental school in 2015. He has performed thousands of implant placements, IV sedations, and third molar extractions. Above all, he attributes his continued drive and successes to his lovely wife, child, and amazing parents. He is currently an active member of the ICOI,AAID, ADSA, ADA and a Fellow of the AAIP.
